Feast of the Assumption of Mary In the Catholic Church, the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was proclaimed a dogma by Pope Pius XII in 1950. Here is an excerpt from Article 966 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, recalling the content and meaning of this dogma:
"Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all suffering from original sin, with when the course of her earthly life was built coprs and soul to heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen of the Universe, to be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death "(LG § 59). The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin is a singular participation in her Son's Resurrection and an anticipation of the resurrection of other Christians [...]" Happy Birthday!
