"Uncle David", winner of the festival-Chéries
Cherish The winners of the 2010 LGBT film Paris, was revealed yesterday, after nine days of screenings that have been a great success. In addition to the film by Gary Reich, several documentaries have been rewarded.
The winners of the 16th film festival gay, lesbian, trans Paris was revealed last night at the Forum des Images. The competition jury fiction, composed of Bambi Maria Beatty Marie Labory, Sébastien Lifshitz and Manuel White, has awarded prizes in a pretty confusing (but fortunately Ourbih Pascale, the president, has arranged it all with great humor). The grand prize of the movie was given to Uncle David English film directed by Gary Reich, Mike Nicholls and David Hoyle. For the same film, Ashley Ryder (below) and David Hoyle were tied for Best Actor. This result has divided the room. It is true that this radical proposal of cinema, arty bias, is enough to deflect some (see the trailer at the bottom of the page and read our article).

Side documentaries, the Grand Prize went to the excellent and very disturbing Uganda, on behalf of God directed by Dominique Memin (France, pictured below). The film will be multicast on Pink TV with a first presentation Friday, December 17 to 22 h. The award Pink TV film documentary on his side winning the gay typing Voto and directed by Helen Barbe, a fascinating biography of the activist Jean Le Bitoux (read our article). Finally the Grand Prix Pink TV Short Film was won by Masala Mama directed by Michael Kam (Singapore) and the Special Mention made by Kaden Harriet Storm (USA).
This 2010 edition of Cheri-Cheri hosted this year 7800 spectators, and curious moviegoers, 15% more than last year. It must be said that the festival this year covering two weekends, which facilitates access to screenings. Note that even the beautiful closing film, Contracorriente, will be broadcast by TV Pink Sunday, December 19 at 22h.
